In search of a mysterious and legendary city of the desert, destroyed and disappeared under the sands of the Rub 'Al-Khali, the largest sandy expanse of the world. Of Ubar in the Koran and quotes can be found in the Thousand and One Nights, its history and its end have been handed down to us, but so far no one had ever been able to identify the position they find the walls.
Ubar was written by the archaeologist amateur Nicholas Clapp, whose main purpose was to make films environmentalist. It is a chronicle of the discovery of well-made "city of a thousand columns. The reader realize how to identify and bring to light, like a city, have been required a decade of preparation, dedication and a lot of luck in what is then the discovery almost by accident, because the search area was vast, as large part of the southern Arabian desert. The novel-essay, written in first person just tells the story of the archaeologist and his wife who, along with a team of archaeologists, who were recruited from the same Clapp, have to do with the world's largest desert.
The story takes place in stages over several years and hopes that alternate with disappointment until you get to the final success.
